Project developed by Marcio Pugina from Utah and his team, is trying to save 30 to 70% on electric bills with what he states the world’s first patent pending combined solar and wind renewable energy generator”. As Marcio sees it one of the problems is ever rising prices of energy in particular residential electricity, which in the United States in the time period of 10 years almost doubled. Future forecasts predict even higher prices in the future, which according to the forecasts shown by the graph could increase almost tenfold by 2031.

To cope with the problem of increasing electricity prices the developing team thought to use solar panels and windmills for electricity production. They contacted several companies, but after doing extensive research found that solar panels were very expensive, costing up to $50,000 which could present quite a large investment for an average household and there is also a dependency on nature as you need sun to produce electricity. Upon that the surprisingly discovered that some cities and homeowner associations won’t allow solar panels because of their large size.

Similar story was with windmills. They were just as expensive as solar panels, costing up to $50,000, dependent on wind and accompanied with even more restrictions than solar panels, depending on the place of residence.

The GEN – Green Energy Naturally

Combining all the problems of both renewable energy generation technologies they came to idea to use the synergies of both technologies. They combined wind and solar technology into one compact unit “The GEN” which fits comfortably on the roof of the house.

the gen developement

Assuming that American homes use on average 830 kWh per month and that conservative wind speeds are between 5-10 miles per hour conservative sunshine exposure amounts to average 5-10 hours of sunshine per day, the GEN can produce between 300 to 600 kWh of electricity per month. That is up to 70% of the household electricity needs. Imagine the results in an area with frequent wind and lots of sunshine!the gen average production
